Yunobo

Updated 2026-10-16· Patch 1.2.1Sage, Goron

Yunobo is the Goron sage. You aim him and he rolls forward, smashing cracked walls, ore deposits and armored enemies. The Fire Temple on Death Mountain is where you earn the vow, and the boss there is a rock-armored insect you open with that roll. After the temple, the mountain burns again.

Aim the roll

Hold the ability and a path appears. Release and he launches along that line. He breaks the cracked rock that marks a cave shortcut, and he breaks the ore on a Stone Talus if the deposit is facing you. Armored Bokoblins and armored Lynels lose plates to the same hit. He has a cooldown. If you fire him into a wall you needed intact, that is on the aim, not on a second charge.

He rolls on the ground. A target on a high ledge needs you to aim up the slope, not into the sky. He can get stuck on a corner. Summon him again rather than waiting for him to path around a tree. In lava country, do not aim him into the melt. You want the rock broken, and you want him back.

Death Mountain and the temple

Goron City is buried in marbled rock roast and Yunobo is not himself until the quest frees him. The Fire Temple boss keeps its legs sealed in that same rock. Roll Yunobo into each leg, break the armor, then shoot the eye when it opens. Repeat until the eye stays open long enough to finish. Fighting the armored legs with a sword wastes the weapon.

Clear the temple and the roast problem ends, but Death Mountain's heat comes back. Flamebreaker armor or a fireproof elixir is required before you return for igneo Taluses and the caves. Yunobo himself does not make you fireproof. He only breaks the rock. Cook at Goron City before you walk back onto the mountain.
