Riju

Start the ability before you walk into the group. The circle expands and locks, then the bolt hits. It is not a panic button. If you start it while a Gibdo is already on you, the wrap is still up for the first second and the sword still bounces. Use the charge time as the approach. When the bolt lands, swing during the window before the wrap returns.

The bolt also staggers armored enemies and breaks the rhythm of a camp. It spends a cooldown long enough that you should not open every Bokoblin fight with it. Save the circle for Gibdos, for a captain construct, and for the queen. Fire fruit on an arrow is the backup when Riju is still cooling down. Both open the same wrap.

While the sand shroud covers the desert, Gerudo Town is sheltering underground and Gibdos own the streets. Riju leads the quest to the Lightning Temple. Inside, hives on the walls spawn more Gibdos. Lightning or fire closes a hive. Close the hives before you chase the queen, or the room fills while she is in the air. When her wrap breaks, commit to the body. When it returns, stop and strike with lightning again.

After the vow, the shroud lifts. Gibdo nests in the deeper desert still use the same rule, so Riju stays useful there even when the town is safe. She is a poor travel companion compared with Tulin. Summon her at the edge of a nest, not for the walk across the sand. Bring sunny food anyway. The desert and the queen both hit hard enough to empty a bar that gloom has already painted.
