Sentry
Sentries are the spotlight drones around Death Mountain while Divine Beast Vah Rudania is still raging. They do not shoot you. If the beam holds on you, Rudania throws magma bombs at that spot. The walk up the mountain with Yunobo is a stealth path through those lights.
Don't stand in the light
Watch the cone on the ground. Cross behind a rock while the light is on the other side of the path. If it catches you, move. The bombs land where the light was, not where you are going, as long as you leave immediately. Stopping to fight a lizard in the beam is how the bombs stack.
A sentry can be shot down. An arrow from outside the cone removes that drone and opens a gap. Do it when a light covers the only bridge. Do not do it in the middle of a swarm if you can walk around, because the shot can pull attention before the drone dies. Flamebreaker armor is assumed on this mountain. The bombs are heat and impact together.
They leave when the beast does
Once Rudania is boarded and freed, this patrol is over. Death Mountain goes back to Igneo Taluses, fire lizards and the heat. You do not farm sentries for a unique part. They are a quest obstacle on the way to the beast, shared with Yunobo's protection.
If you turn back down the mountain mid-approach, the lights are still there when you return. Nothing about them changes at night or after a blood moon. Learn one route that stays in shadow, and reuse it if a bomb knocks you off the path.
