September Mid-Season Balance Changes: Fast Nerfs to Goblinstein
To prevent a stale meta, Supercell pushed a mid-season balance patch on September 16, 2026. The balance targets overperforming recent cards, nerfing Goblinstein, Minion Giant, and Hero Ice Wizard.
Three Major Nerfs
Goblinstein’s ability duration was cut by 13% (from 4.0s to 3.5s). Minion Giant’s damage was reduced by 11% (from 189 to 168 hitpoints). Hero Ice Wizard’s freeze duration was reduced by 29% (from 7.0s to 5.0s).
With these adjustments to melee and high-impact units, mid-speed control and passive defense-counter archetypes are rising again. Players are returning to slow-tempo lanes rather than relying purely on overperforming new cards.
Fire Spirit Compensatory Buff
Fire Spirit received a +4% damage buff (from 207 to 215 hitpoints). This allows it to clean up lightweight swarms more reliably. Players may consider swapping it in to handle recent air bait variations.
