Sidon
Sidon is the Zora sage. His ability wraps you in a water bubble. Swing a weapon and the bubble becomes a wave that damages enemies and washes sludge away. You end up wet. Wet cools an igneo Talus and makes lightning hurt more, so do not leave the bubble on in a thunderstorm. The Water Temple is where you earn him.
Bubble, then wave
Activate the ability and the bubble sits on you. It blocks a hit from the front. The attack you actually want is the swing that releases the wave. The wave travels forward, strips mud, and knocks lighter enemies over. Then you are wet until it wears off. Use that wet status on purpose when you are about to climb an igneo Talus, and take it off before you draw a metal weapon in the rain.
The bubble works while you are walking or shield-surfing. It has a cooldown after the wave. If you pop it early by accident, you have spent the charge and you are wet with no wave to show for it. Wait until the enemy or the mud is in front of you, then swing. Sidon standing in a doorway can block you the same way Tulin can. Dismiss him in narrow ruins.
Sludge and the temple
Zora Domain is choked with sludge until the quest is done. Sidon leads you to the Water Temple in the sky. The boss hides in mud and sends out muddy copies. The wave washes a patch clean and the real body is vulnerable for a short time. Hit it, then wash it again when it dives and spreads more mud. Swinging at the mud while the bubble is still unused does almost nothing.
After the vow, the domain clears and the wave is a field tool. It puts out fires, cools igneo rock, and gives you a wet hit into a group of electric enemies when you want the stun and you can afford the risk. Bring a splash fruit as a backup if Sidon is on cooldown in front of a Talus. The fruit does the cooling. He does it in a wider line.
