Like Like
A Like Like is a tube with a mouth that sits in caves, ruins and wet ground. If it swallows you, it digests your shield first and your weapon second. Swing as soon as the mouth closes and you can break out before the shield is gone. The stone it drops can be fused to a weapon that eats an enemy's gear.

Do not stand in the mouth
They lunge farther than they look. Fight from the side, or shoot the mouth before you walk up. A spear keeps you out of the swallow. If you do get eaten, mash the attack. The inside of the mouth takes damage, and enough hits spit you out with your equipment still in your hands. Panic and wait, and the shield icon disappears first.
Fire, ice, electric and stone Like Likes use the same swallow. The elemental ones add a spit of that element, so the ice one can freeze you into the next lunge. Stone Like Likes in caves are the ones that surprise people who only came in for a chest. Throw a brightbloom, find the tube, and kill it before you open anything.
The stone that eats weapons
Like Like stones fuse to a weapon or a shield. A hit with that weapon can swallow the enemy's fused weapon and remove it from the fight. It is a tool for a Moblin or a Lizalfos that is carrying something you do not want to get hit by. The stomach is a cooking and elixir part. Neither drop is worth losing your best shield, so shoot from a distance when the Like Like is alone.
They sit in the same holes after a Blood Moon. Once you know a cave entrance has one, you never walk in with your favorite shield on your arm. Switch to a spare shield, kill the Like Like, then switch back. That habit saves more equipment than any elixir.
