Fuse
Fuse attaches a material to a weapon, a shield or an arrow. Monster horns add their attack to the weapon. Eyeballs make arrows turn. Elemental horns and fruits add fire, ice or lightning. A rocket on a shield launches you. The material is spent when the weapon breaks, so rare horns go on weapons that will last.
Weapons and arrows
A tree branch plus a Bokoblin horn is a real sword on the Great Sky Island. A Boss Bokoblin horn, a Moblin horn or a Lizalfos horn is the next step, and a Lizalfos horn adds that element. Lynel and Gleeok horns are the late ones. You cannot fuse two weapons into each other. The base is a weapon, a shield or an arrow, and the addition is a material.
On an arrow, a Keese eyeball homes, a fire fruit burns, an ice fruit freezes, a shock fruit stuns the wet, and a bomb flower explodes. A Gibdo bone is a single heavy shot. A dragon spike is an elemental shot you do not want to waste on a camp. Muddlebuds confuse a monster into hitting its friends. Puffshrooms throw up a cloud you can hide in. Spend the cheap effect before the rare one.
Shields, and taking a fuse off
A rocket on a shield is a vertical launch into bullet time. A spring is a bounce. A sled or a cart is a shield-surf board for snow and rails. A ruby, sapphire or topaz on a shield bursts with that element when you perfect-guard. A Like Like stone can swallow an enemy weapon. These are tools you swap, not one shield you never take off.
Pelison, the Goron at Tarrey Town, can break a fuse off a weapon and give you the base back. The material is destroyed. Use him when a good weapon is carrying a horn you have outgrown, not as a way to recover a Gleeok horn. Until you reach him, choose the base carefully the first time. A broken weapon takes the horn with it.
