Lizalfos

A Lizalfos standing still looks like a plant, a rock or a patch of the local ground. Throw a brightbloom or shoot the suspicious shape. Once it moves, it spits and then jumps. The spit is the attack to avoid. Fire spit sets the grass under you alight, ice spit freezes you in place, and electric spit disarms a metal weapon if you are wet.

Do not commit to a long combo. Two hits, then step aside, because the tail swipe comes after the hop. A headshot stops the hop and lets you fuse-steal the horn fight in your favor. Ice and fire cancel each other if you bring the opposite fruit on an arrow. An electric Lizalfos in the rain is a reason to put the metal sword away and use a wooden or zonaite weapon.

A fire horn lights campfires, bomb flowers and wooden shields. An ice horn freezes an enemy so the next hit shatters for extra damage. An electric horn stuns a wet enemy and everything standing in water next to it. These are tools, not just attack numbers. Keep one of each on a cheap spear so you are not fusing your only fire horn to a weapon you are about to break on a Talus.

Colors still climb from red to silver, and a silver elemental horn is worth a trip into Hebra, Eldin or the Gerudo highlands. They also show up in the Depths with the same elements. Blood Moons bring them back to the same ledges. If you only need the horn, a single headshot plus a chase is enough. You do not have to clear every Lizalfos on the cliff.
