PlayStation Network Outage Extends Monster Hunter Wilds Beta

Last weekend, Sony's PlayStation Network (PSN) experienced a mysterious outage, leaving many gamers unable to access digital games and online servers. This unfortunate timing coincided with Capcom's second Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Due to the outage, hunters lost access to the beta for nearly half of its runtime. This prompted requests from players to extend the beta period.

Fortunately, Capcom has responded generously. After considering an additional 24-hour extension, they have confirmed that an extra day will be added to the second beta's upcoming rerun.

"Hunters, we're pleased to confirm that due to the PlayStation Network outage that occurred during the first week of OBT2, we're extending the second week of OBT2 by +24 hours on all platforms," Capcom announced.

The second-second open beta will run from:

* February 13 at 7pm PT / 10pm ET / February 14 at 3am GMT
* Until February 17 at 6:59pm PT / 9:59pm ET / February 18 at 2:59am GMT

This extension will allow PlayStation hunters to redeem their lost time, while others can enjoy an additional day of hunting.

Even for those not planning to invest significant time in the beta, it's worth hopping in for a quick hunt to earn beta test rewards redeemable in the full game upon release later this month.
