OLED Monitors Market to Hit $1 Billion by 2025
According to LG, the market for OLED PC monitors is projected to grow from $75 million in 2022 to over $1 billion by 2025. Analyst firm Omdia estimates that OLEDs accounted for 13.3% of the gaming monitor market in 2024.
LG claims that Korean companies dominate the monitor OLED panel market, with a 99.8% share. However, LG did not reveal market share between itself and rival Samsung.
OLED Adoption in Gaming Monitors
Despite the high cost of OLED monitors, LG reports a rapid adoption rate, with a significant number of models released by major brands. Omdia estimates that OLEDs accounted for 13.3% of the gaming monitor market in 2024.
Fall in Prices
The increasing popularity and production volumes are expected to lead to lower prices for OLED monitors. Entry-level big-brand OLED monitors are now about half the price of their initial launch in 2022.
LG's Advanced OLED Technology
LG has confirmed its commitment to bringing its latest Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology from TVs to monitors. This new panel structure is said to improve screen brightness, color reproduction, and energy efficiency.
OLED Popularity in Gaming Laptops
Beyond desktop monitors, OLEDs have also gained popularity in high-end gaming laptops, with many models now featuring OLED panels.
