Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price Retires

After three decades at the helm, Insomniac Games founder and CEO Ted Price has announced his retirement, effective March 2024.

Price, who established Insomniac in 1994, has overseen the creation of beloved franchises such as Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, Sunset Overdrive, and most recently, the Marvel's Spider-Man series. His leadership has earned him industry accolades and a reputation for fostering a positive work environment.

In 2022, Price played a pivotal role in advocating for studios to make public statements on abortion rights in the US. While Sony initially refused, Insomniac donated $50,000 to the Women's Reproductive Rights Assistance Project, matched by Sony.

Succeeding Price will be a trio of "co-studio heads":

* Chad Dezern, Head of Creative
* Ryan Schneider, Head of Franchise Strategy and Studio Relations
* Jen Huang, Head of Finance

Price expressed confidence in the trio's abilities, citing their instrumental contributions to Insomniac's success and their commitment to collaboration and transparency.

Price's post-retirement plans remain undisclosed, but he expressed excitement at joining the ranks of Insomniac fans. He noted that he looks forward to experiencing future Insomniac games solely as a player and breaking his habit of subconsciously scanning for bugs.
