Ted Price, Founder of Insomniac Games, Announces Retirement

After a remarkable career spanning over 30 years, Ted Price, the founder and CEO of Insomniac Games, has announced his retirement, effective March 2023.

Since founding Insomniac in 1994, Price has led the studio to create critically acclaimed titles, including:

* Disruptor (1996)
* Spyro the Dragon (1998)
* Ratchet & Clank series
* Resistance series
* Sunset Overdrive (2014)
* Marvel's Spider-Man series

Co-Studio Heads to Assume Leadership

Three "co-studio heads" will succeed Price:

* Chad Dezern (Head of Creative)
* Ryan Schneider (Head of Franchise Strategy and Studio Relations)
* Jen Huang (Head of Finance)

Price expressed confidence in their ability to lead Insomniac to further success, citing their collaboration, transparency, and complementary skillsets.

Social Responsibility

In addition to his gaming achievements, Price has also been recognized for his advocacy. In 2022, he played a role in persuading Sony to allow studios to make public statements on abortion rights in the US.

Future Plans

Price did not disclose specific plans for after his retirement but expressed excitement about joining the ranks of Insomniac fans. He anticipates experiencing future games as a player, shedding his former habit of constantly scanning for bugs.
