Level Zero: Extraction Discontinued Amidst Performance Struggles

Level Zero: Extraction, the debut title from DogHowl, has ceased development due to underwhelming performance.

In a statement, community manager Antishyr explained that the game had "underperformed compared to expectations," making it unsustainable for the team to continue financial support.

The game's final patch was released on January 30th, 2025, and its servers will remain online for continued play. However, there will be no further content updates, weekend events, or other features.

Level Zero: Extraction sought to combine elements of extraction shooters and asymmetrical horror. While the developers believed this fusion would offer a unique experience, it ultimately failed to resonate with players.

After an initial surge in player count, the game quickly experienced a decline. Its peak concurrent player count reached just over 2,600, but fell to sub-100 numbers within two months.

Despite the setbacks, DogHowl acknowledges the lessons learned from Level Zero: Extraction and expresses optimism for future projects, including a new multiplayer title focused on cooperative gameplay.
