Tibia: New Monk Vocation Announced

After 28 years, the groundbreaking MMO Tibia is introducing a fifth playable class: the Monk. This melee-focused vocation joins the ranks of Knight, Sorcerer, Druid, and Paladin, marking a significant change for the game that has remained steadfast with its four classes since its 1997 launch.

The Monk's Role

The Monk is a versatile character with primary damage-dealing capabilities but also effective as a tank and healer. By accumulating Harmony through their attacks, Monks can enhance their power or unleash potent healing and damage abilities.

Unique Mechanic: Serene

The Monk features the Serene mechanic, which increases their power when they are not adjacent to an ally and have fewer than five monsters nearby. This solidifies their role as a secondary tank who excels in separating and defeating small groups of enemies.

Release Timeline

External playtesting for the Monk begins on February 25 within the Tibia community, with an official launch scheduled for the second quarter of this year. "Powerful spells, mighty robes, devastating weapons, and enchanting realms" will be available from the class's inception.

A Time for Discovery

The addition of the Monk is seen as an opportunity to rekindle the sense of discovery that has always been a hallmark of Tibia. Players can embrace the intricacies of a new vocation, experiment with novel strategies, and adapt to evolving team compositions.

Tibia's Legacy

Tibia has garnered attention for its significant events in the past, such as the introduction of sound effects and the mysterious door that could only be opened by reaching level 999. The upcoming Monk vocation is set to create another memorable chapter in the game's rich history.
